Conservative Mainstream brings together Conservatives who believe we need to focus on the centre to establish common ground with the British people. By addressing the practical problems that British people face in their daily lives, opportunity will extend to all in society. To achieve this the Conservative Party needs to be open-minded and generous in social policy; realistic in economic policy; and internationalist in foreign policy. Our purpose is to encourage debate and discussion and develop Conservative policies which meet these objectives.
Our membership is drawn from across the elected and voluntary party, including MPs, MEPs, Councillors and activists. As Parliamentary Mainstream, we hold fortnightly lunches under the Chatham House Rule at Portcullis House with speakers from the worlds of politics, business, the voluntary sector and journalism. A non-subscription organisation, funds are provided for Parliamentary Mainstream by patrons and by occasional fundraising events.
